Cerebral Infarction and Congestive Heart Failure after a Colonoscopic Polypectomy in High-risk Patients: Lessons from a Case Report

There is a risk of post-polypectomy bleeding (PPB) in patients undergoing colonoscopic polypectomy, especially those taking warfarin. Undoubtedly, the use warfarin can raise bleeding, but its withdrawal increases thrombosis. Therefore, management during polypectomy particularly important to balance thrombosis and bleeding. Herein, we reported case due mitral aortic valve replacement who developed cerebral infarction congestive heart failure (CHF) after polypectomy. Knowledge regarding heparin bridging was reviewed guide clinical interventions about how avoid thrombotic events.
